Connection Type

Network (TCP) - Use Ethernet control for NAD receivers that support Ethernet control.

Serial Port - Use RS-232 Serial control for NAD receivers that support serial control - excluding the T748.

Serial Port (T748 Only) - Use RS-232 Serial control for NAD T748 receivers only. Selecting this parameter puts the driver in a proprietary T748 mode. This should only be used with T748 receivers.

TCP Connection

The Ethernet connection on the NAD Receiver should be connected to the Network. NAD Receivers use DHCP. The IP address can be obtained by pressing the Source Up and Source Down buttons on the front of the receiver simultaneously and viewing the on-screen display. It is however recommend to set a static IP in the MAC/IP reservation table of the network router for the NAD Receiver. Refer to the documentation for the network router in use on how to setup MAC/IP reservations.

NAD Receiver uses port 23 for TCP communication.

RS-232 Connection

The Serial (RS-232) connection on the NAD Receiver should be connected to the processor serial adapter. A null modem is not required.

The baud rate of the Serial (RS-232) port for NAD Receivers is fixed at 115200.

Driver Notes

- Multi-Zone output capabilities are model specific

- Preset Up/Down (Zone) commands will change tuner presets even if the main zone is off and the tuner is not the selected source in the main zone.

- iPod control is not available unless selected in the main zone.

- iPod navigation and browsing is only available on-screen.

- iPod control on the T748/T757 requires the iPod menu to be active in the on-screen display.

- T748 Exclusive driver commands have only been tested with a T748 receiver and may not work on any other receiver model. If using a T748 receiver it is recommended to use these commands in place of the other driver commands respectively.
