Custom Retailer Magazine Recognizes Series of Three Customizable Keypads

Custom Retailer Magazine’s Exc!te Awards honor products that best exemplify the excitement and growth of the custom installation and consumer electronics industries. Winners are chosen by Custom Retailer's Editors and Contributors, as well as selected retailers and industry observers. Exc!te Award winners were announced on September 6 in Denver at the 2007 CEDIA Expo.

The RK1 Series consists of three customizable keypads designed for flush-mount installations. All three keypads provide a self-contained, open-architecture system for controlling and automating audio/video components, lights or other electronic systems in the home. Sized for a single-gang outlet, the RK1-2, RK1-4 and RK1-8 incorporate two, four, and eight fully-programmable buttons respectively, with each button capable of storing and executing unlimited macro command steps. Each button can be labeled with custom text and symbols, and in addition, the backlight for each button can be configured to display any one of several different colors.

The RK1 Series can directly control almost any audio/video component or lighting system up to 1,000 feet away using its infrared output port. When used with the available RTI accessory devices, the RK1 Series is capable of infrared routing, relay control, power sensing and RS-232 communications for advanced control. Programming is easy and convenient thanks to RTI’s proprietary, award-winning, Windows® based TheaterTouch Designer™ software.

Easy to install, the RK1 keypads are also designed to match any décor due to their clean and neutral style and compatibility with Decora® style wall plates, all three keypads in the series are available from RTI in three different colors: white, gray and black.
